1. Purpose
JustSMTP relays transactional email — messages triggered by an action a recipient took with your product or service, such as sign-up confirmations, password resets, receipts, and notifications. This policy exists to protect deliverability and sending reputation for every customer sharing our infrastructure. Violating it may result in suspension of a credential pair, a sending domain, or your account.
2. Permitted use
- Transactional and account-related notifications (welcome emails, receipts, alerts, OTPs).
- Application-triggered emails sent to recipients who have an existing relationship with you.
- Low-volume opt-in digests or product updates sent to users who requested them.
3. Prohibited use
You may not use JustSMTP to send, or knowingly relay on behalf of a third party:
- Unsolicited bulk email or "cold" marketing to purchased, scraped, or rented lists.
- Phishing, malware, or messages that impersonate another person, brand, or domain you don't control.
- Content that is illegal, or that facilitates illegal activity, in the jurisdictions you or your recipients are in.
- Messages promoting pyramid schemes, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, or content prohibited by our upstream provider, Amazon SES's Acceptable Use Policy.
- Mail sent from a domain you have not verified with us, or with forged sender information.
- Any use that results in bounce rates, spam complaint rates, or abuse reports beyond generally accepted industry thresholds.
4. Monitoring and enforcement
We monitor bounce rates, spam complaints, and delivery feedback loops in aggregate to protect shared sending reputation. Because we do not retain message bodies, enforcement is based on message metadata, delivery signals, and complaint reports — not content inspection. We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate a credential pair, domain, or account that puts shared infrastructure at risk, with notice where practical.
5. Dedicated IPs
Customers on plans with dedicated IPs are still subject to this policy. Poor sending practices on a dedicated IP affect only that customer's reputation, but egregious or illegal use will still result in suspension.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe a JustSMTP customer is sending abusive mail, contact abuse@justsmtp.com with the full message headers where possible. We investigate all abuse reports.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as sending practices and regulations evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
